Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor best famous for her character House in the Fox medical drama House. Growing up in Wayne in conservative Jewish tradition, she moved in New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in acting at the Tisch School of Arts. Her performance quickly made her a part of the club scene in New York. Her shows were so good that even local media took notice. She eventually used her experience and fame to create and write a musical titled Positive Me which she played a role in. In the following year, she was hired by MTV to be the host of Awake on the Wild Side. Following the end of the series, she started appearing in the film and television industry, initially in smaller parts, but gradually establishing her acting career.
